The Jets made a few roster moves today, waiving RB Derrick Blaylock and DE Bobby Hamilton. Various media outlets are reporting that QB Patrick Ramsey and DE Kimo Oelhoffen will be waived tomorrow. Both have roster bonuses which are due on March 1st. RB Kevan Barlow was let go last week.
Free agents can be signed starting Friday March 1st. With so many teams having 15 – 20 million dollars in cap room, it is a good time to be a free agent.
With the Jets roster currently being light on RBs, you can count on it being a focus. Either through the draft or free agency. San Diego RB Michael Turner received a high tender offer (2.35 million) from the Chargers. Which means that any team that wanted to sign him would have to forfeit their first and third round picks. A trade (with less draft pick compensation) is a more likely possibility.
