The Jets made some roster moves today, signing cornerback Manny Collins and re-signing offensive lineman Nick Smith. They also waived punter Jeremy Kapinos and offensive tackle Ed Blanton.Â
No real surprises in this group other than Ed Blanton. It would have been tough for him to make the final cut but being let go this early is interesting. Maybe they are doing him a favor so he can catch on somewhere else. He did spend the entire 2006 season on the practice squad and was active for the playoff game in New England.
