Free agency is here and the Jets didn’t waste any time. According to ESPN.com the Jets will soon announce that they have traded for DT Kris Jenkins from the Carolina Panthers. The Jets will reportedly give up their 3rd and 5th round picks in exchange for the two time pro bowl defensive tackle. Read more about that here.
Sirius NFL Radio is also reporting that the Jets are close to:
- Signing Alan Faneca to a 4 year 32 million dollar deal (20 million guaranteed). Other teams are involved so this is not a done deal yet.
- Trading Jonathan Vilma to the New Orleans Saints for a conditional pick in the 2009 draft.
