Jets Waive Bowens and Kassell

The Jets continue to “clean up” their salary cap.  Yesterday they waived two players, David Bowens and Brad Kassell.

Bowens, who switched to ILB this past year, started a few games when David Harris was injured.  He is a versatile player who can play a few different positions (DE, OLB, ILB) so this move was a surprise.

Kassell had a solid year in 2007 on special teams.  In 2008, he was on the injured reserve list the entire year.
