Jets Waive Bowens and Kassell

The Jets continue to “clean up” their salary cap.  Yesterday they waived two players, David Bowens and Brad Kassell.

Bowens, who switched to ILB this past year, started a few games when David Harris was injured.  He is a versatile player who can play a few different positions (DE, OLB, ILB) so this move was a surprise.

Kassell had a solid year in 2007 on special teams.  In 2008, he was on the injured reserve list the entire year.

Check out our forums for the latest free agent speculation.  Are the Jets going after one of the Ravens free agent linebackers (Bart Scott, Ray Lewis)?  Let us know what you think.
