The Shaun Ellis suspension is official. We mentioned it on August 9th and although this doesn’t come as a surprise the reality is the Jets will be without Ellis and Calvin Pace in week one. Pace is suspended for the first four games. These are two key players that will be missing which means that Vernon Gholston is going to have to step up.
The 31-year-old Ellis was arrested in November and charged with possession of marijuana, speeding and driving without insurance after being pulled over by police in Hanover, N.J., a few miles from the team’s training facility in Florham Park.
