The New York Jets have waived CB Marquice Cole. The announcement was made by general manager Mike Tannenbaum. Cole was waived to make room for the reinstatement of Shaun Ellis, who returns after serving his one-game suspension.

Cole (5’10”, 190) signed with the Jets as a free agent on Feb. 19. He made the 53-man roster and was inactive for the game at Houston. Cole was originally signed by Oakland as a rookie free agent on May 4, 2007, and was waived by the Raiders on Sept. 1, 2007. He spent time on the Tennessee and New Orleans practice squads.
