According to Rich Cimini of the NY Daily News, the New York Jets have waived CB Ahmad Carroll.

In a surprising move, the Jets announced this morning they have released veteran CB Ahmad Carroll, one of their top special teams players.
Carroll was inactive for the second straight week. Over the first seven games, he had four special-teams tackles. He didn’t play any defense, but he was generally regarded a solid player on specials.
Is this Rex Ryan’s way of sending a message to his underachieving team? Was the move discipline related? We’ll find out later today.
