Day Two Post Lockout; Still No Work Outs
Well day two of the post-lockout world is here and the New York Jets still will not let their players work out at the facility in Florham Park.
Think about that for a minute. The players show up with the intention of talking to coaches, lifting weights and getting stronger. They are not allowed to do that.
Bizarro NFL World here we come. We realize that the NFL is planning their next move and teams may be on their own a bit, but the Giants are taking a different approach and they should be commended for it.
Left tackle D’Brickashaw Ferguson and defensive lineman Mike DeVito arrived just after 9 a.m. and stayed for 10 to 15 minutes — “Groundhog Day,” DeVito joked, referring to the repeat of Tuesday.
The players were once again met by Director of Football Administration Ari Nissim and Director of Player Personnel Dave Szott and told that they could not work out at the facility. Ferguson and DeVito, who were among the six players who reported Tuesday, both have sizable offseason workout bonuses in their contracts.
