Game Recap Jet News

Jets 32 – Jaguars 3

The Jets wanted to play better at home this year and so far the results are good.  They are 2 and 0 at home and 2 and 0 on the season.  Some highlights:

  • The defense had 4 interceptions and 2 sacks
  • Rookie 1st round draft pick Muhammad Wilkerson continued to prove he is ready to play on this level with a 1st quarter safety
  • Mark Sanchez was 17/24 on the day with 2 interceptions and 2 touchdowns
  • Dustin Keller had 6 receptions for 101 yards and a touchdown

The offense line continues to play at a level lower than expected.  Wayne Hunter was called for multiple penalties today.  Nick Mangold left the game with an injury (ankle) and overall the running game hasn’t found their stride yet.  Shonn Greene had 16 carries for 49 yards and a TD, while LaDainian Tomlinson had 6 carries for 8 yards.  It is nice to see the Jets winning football games while they work out the kinks in the running game.

We will have an update on the Nick Mangold injury and the JetNation Report Card tonight.
