Back to Work Monday

It is Monday and that means the Jets will head back to work today.  They had the weekend off after the Thursday night game against the Broncos.  The road to the playoffs is going to be a tough one since the Jets currently stand at 5 and 5.  All 5 of their losses have come to AFC teams which is going to make tie-breakers rough.  To get in to the playoffs the Jets don’t have much room for error.

Some notes as the Jets try to get the season back on track:

  • The Jets next 4 opponents currently have 16 wins and 23 losses.
  • Through the end of the regular season, the only team the Jets play that currently has a winning record is the Giants.
  • Including the Giants, the next 6 opponents have 25 wins and 34 losses.

The Jets simply have to play better but here is some good news, Ladainian Tomlinson and Shonn Greene are expected to be back on the field against the Bills on Sunday.  If the offensive line does not improve, if Mark Sanchez doesn’t avoid costly turnovers, the opponents record simply won’t matter.

If the Jets have proven one thing this year it is that they can beat themselves.  As they head back to work today, they must correct that if they want to save the season.
