Holmes Appears To Have Broken Rib In Scrimmage
While an official diagnosis has not been given it appears that wide receiver Santonio Holmes has suffered a broken rib during the Jets annual “Green and White” scrimmage:
Mark Sanchez lost his primary weapon during Saturday night’s intrasquad scrimmage. Santonio Holmes likely suffered a broken rib making the one of his three catches during the hour-long practice, Rex Ryan said.
“I don’t know about Tone,” Ryan said after the scrimmage. “I heard he might have broke a rib or something. I’m not sure about that.”

Coach Rex Ryan explained that the injury seems to be quite severe:
Rex on Santonio: "I don't know if Santonio broke a rib or not, but the fact that it was sticking out was probably an indicator. "
