Jets Cut DT Marcus Dixon; Other Roster Moves
It has been reported from ESPN’s Rich Cimini that the Jets have cut Marcus Dixon. Dixon was scheduled to make $540,000 in 2012. The Jets claimed Dixon off waivers from the Cowboys in 2010.
The Jets have also released 7th round pick safety Antonio Allen and TE Dedrick Epps. They have also received off waivers, nose tackle Isaako Aaitui and wide receiver Clyde Gates from Miami and tight end Konrad Reuland from San Francisco.

The New York Jets have claimed NT Isaako Aaitui (MIA), WR Clyde Gates (MIA) and TE Konrad Reuland (SF) and waived S Antonio Allen, DT Marcus Dixon and TE Dedrick Epps. The team has also signed seven players to the practice squad. The announcements were made by General Manager Mike Tannenbaum.
Claimed off Waivers:
Aaitui (NT/6-4/315/UNLV/Pago Pago, American Samoa) entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with Miami (10/04/11) as a member of their practice squad, where he spent the final 13 weeks of the season. He spent training camp with the Dolphins in 2012 prior to being waived (08/31/12).
Gates (WR/5-11/197/Abilene Christian/Vernon, TX), a former fourth-round draft pick by Miami in 2011, caught two passes last season for 19 yards and returned 34 kickoffs for 843 yards (24.3 average). He spent training camp with the Dolphins prior to being waived (08/31/12).
Reuland (TE/6-4/260/Stanford/Mission Viejo, CA) was initially an undrafted free agent signing (07/27/11) by San Francisco. Waived (09/03/11) by the 49ers following training camp, he was added to the practice squad (09/04/11) where he spent all 17 weeks. In two seasons at Stanford, Reuland appeared in 26 games (nine starts) after spending two seasons (2006-07) at Notre Dame and was named an honorable mention All-Pac-10 selection as a senior (2010).
