Woody set to Name Maccagnan GM

Woody Johnson

According to NFL.com, Woody Johnson and the New York Jets are set to name Mike Maccagnan as the successor to fired General Manager John Idzik.  Maccagnan’s hiring appeared imminent when it was announced that he would be spending a third day in New York after meeting with Johnson for dinner he previous evening.

Maccagnan will be coming over from the Houston Texans where he has served in multiple personnel roles since 2000, most recently as their director of college scouting.  Charlie Casserly, who has been assisting Johnson with his search for a new GM was in Houston with Maccagnan when serving as their GM, and the pair also worked together in Washington.
