With Injuries at Safety Mounting, Jets add Veteran Campbell for Depth

NY Jets Helmet

With starting free safety Marcus Maye on the shelf with a broken thumb and his backup Doug Middleton out for the season with a torn pectoral muscle, the Jets are dipping in to the free agent pool to add some veteran depth.

Former Cleveland Browns, Houston Texans and Dallas Cowboys safety Ibraheim Campbell has been signed by the Jets to help solidify a suddenly shaky safety position.

Campbell has appeared in 42 pro games (11 starts), logging 68 tackles, 1 pass defended and a fumble recovery.
