McCown to Start on Sunday; Trumaine Johnson May Return
The Jets injury report is listed below and it is long. Sam Darnold hasn’t practiced this week. Todd Bowles said Darnold is pretty much ruled out as the starter on Sunday, but they haven’t made a decision if he will be active or not.
It’s possible. If he can’t go at all, obviously, we have plans in place to try to bring up Davis (Webb). So, we’ll just play that by ear.
Steve McLendon, Robby Anderson, Neal Sterling and Quincy Enunwa have all yet to practice as well. Todd Bowles indicated that Neal Sterling is probably the only one that has been ruled out for Sunday at this point in time.
More from Todd Bowles
On if he has a good feeling that Trumaine Johnson will play against Buffalo…
He’s running around better. We’ve just got to see what his conditioning is for the next couple days and see on Sunday.
On if he is concerned that Robby Anderson and Quincy Enunwa haven’t practiced this week…
Yeah, obviously they are sore from last game. So, we’ll keep monitoring and see how they come around. They are getting better, but it’s just a matter of when.
On if Darnold is fully healthy and capable of starting, will he get back his starting job…
Yeah, he is our quarterback.
On who will start if Josh McCown is playing well and Darnold is healthy…
Sam is our quarterback.
