Rapoport: Darnold Likely out Until Week 14
It appears that the strain suffered by Jets quarterback Sam Darnold a couple of weeks ago is one of the worst strains in recent memory, or the Jets downplayed a more serious injury to save face after head coach Todd Bowles didn’t pull his injured center, Spencer Long, who was snapping the football all over the field, exposing Darnold to unnecessary hits just a couple of weeks ago.
The #Jets could get No. 3 pick QB Sam Darnold (foot) back next week, but the following week is more likely, sources say. He needs to get on the field next week & see how his foot responds. The hope is when he’s back, he’s back for good to resume the progress he’d made on-field.

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Darnold could return next week against the Tennesee Titans, but it’s more likely that it’ll be another two weeks of rest for Darnold before he returns against the Buffalo Bills in week 14.
