Camp Set to Open; Jets Make Roster Moves

The NY Jets are set to open up training camp on Thursday. JetNation will be there and we will have full camp reports every day. One player that won’t be there when camp opens is 1st round pick Quinnen Williams, he is still not under contract. Manish Mehta has some strong words for the team and puts the blame on them for the holdout.

The team announced that they have placed CB Brian Poole and OL Toa Lobendahn on the active/non-football-injury list. The Poole injury is concerning but there was no word on the extent or timing. Parry Nickerson is Poole’s backup.

Ethan Greenberg has some additional player background.

Poole, a Florida product who signed with the Jets in the offseason, totaled 196 tackles, 20 pass defenses, five sacks and four interceptions in 47 games with the Falcons. Last season, the 5’10”, 211-pounder set personal-bests with 74 tackles, three interceptions and three sacks.

Lobendahn signed with the Green & White as an undrafted free agent in May. The 6’3”, 295-pound USC product started 34 games for the Trojans and lined up at left tackle (18), left guard (8), right guard (5) and center (3).

I started JetNation in 2005 and have been a New York Jets season ticket holder since graduating from high school. My dream is to see the New York Jets win the Super Bowl. Until then, I will be right here on JetNation writing, dreaming and talking NY Jets football.
