Rumor: Jets in Trade Talks to Acquire Cornerback
Add another twist to the Jets vs Kelechi Osemele saga that has one side pitted against the other in a “he said she said” debate regarding Osemele’s shoulder injury.
#Jets & #Ravens Discussing Trade involving Cornerback Jimmy Smith. Sounds like if healthy, Kelechi Osemele could’ve been heading back to Baltimore. Jets would conceivably get Smith plus a draft pick to eat Smith’s money owed.

NFL insider Chad Forbes says the Jets and Ravens are in talks that could send Osemele back to Baltimore in exchange for cornerback Jimmy Smith and a draft choice.
The Jets and Osemele are currently embroiled in a very public battle in which Osemele is claiming he needs shoulder surgery while the team claims he has been cleared to play. One report even said the Jets will look to fine Osemele for conduct detrimental to the team if he refuses to take part in team activities.
If a move were to be made, the Jets would be acquiring a 6′ 2” cornerback who has played just one game this season. Smith injured himself in the team’s season opener and has just been cleared to being practicing again. The nine-year veteran has appeared in 99 career games (79 starts), logging 13 interceptions and 64 passes defended.
