Gase Says No Word on being Fired; Perine to Covid List
Adam Gase was asked to comment about the report that he was told he would be fired when the season ends.
That was news to me. No one has said that to me.
No need to speculate on that any further, that situation will work itself out shortly. For this week the Jets have some additional injuries and a new player going on the Covid list.
Josh Andrews won’t participate with the thigh; Frank Gore, obviously, I talked about this the other day with the chest/lung; (Javelin) Guidry with the knee, won’t participate. Jeff Smith will be limited, and (La’Mical) Perine is going to go on COVID (Reserve). That’s where we’re at with that right now, we’re still doing some contact tracing stuff to see if this affects anybody else. So, that’s kind of where we’re at with that, I’m not sure if or how many guys this could affect.
Adam Gase said he doesn’t think any of the other running backs will be unavailable due to the contact tracing.
RB La'Mical Perine is the first Jets player in the regular season to test positive for COVID-19. Adam Gase said contact tracing is underway to determine if others have been effected. There haven't been a lot of players around the facility in recent days… https://t.co/32BwsWb74G

The Jets have designated G Greg Van Roten (IR) and G Alex Lewis (non-football injury list) to return to practice. It means their starting OL could be intact for the finale. #Jets

Here is the full injury report that the team released today. A lot of the not injury related is due to contact tracing.
