Duane Brown Ruled out for Sunday, Possibly Longer; Fant to LT with Rookie Mitchell Starting on Right Side

Duane Brown

The New York Jets have yet to play a single snap in the 2022 season and they’ve already lost two starting left tackles.

Head coach Robert Saleh met with the media and confirmed what Jets fans had feared in Brown being unable to go.  The head coach also said the team would continue “gathering information” to figure out what the plan is for Brown moving forward.  Ominous words from a coach who had a similar take when left tackle Mekhi Becton was injured earlier this year.  The team quickly went from “not too worried” according to Saleh, to out for the year.

We wondered yesterday if Brown being out would mean George Fant moves to left tackle with rookie Max Mitchell getting the start and that is in fact the plan.

According to Saleh, Mitchell will get the nod on Sunday while the team digs deeper into the Brown injury to determine how much time he’ll miss.
