Jets Lose Another Tackle as Mitchell Heads to Non-Football Injury List; Tackle Will not Play Again This Season

Max Mitchell

The number of injuries the New York Jets have sustained at the offensive tackle position had already reached levels of absurdity, and things just got worse.  Head coach Robert Saleh bet with the media today and announced the team will be without the services of rookie tackle Max Mitchell for the remainder of the season.

Saleh did not divulge the reason behind Mitchell being done for the year, saying only that the tackle was placed on the non-football injury list and will not finish the year.

With Mitchell out, Mike Remmers becomes the team’s swing tackle with George Fant and Duane Brown slated to start at right and left tackle respectively.  On the season the Jets will have lost Mitchell, Mekhi Becton, Alijah Vera-Tucker, Brown, Fant and Cedric Ogbuehi for all or part of the 2022 season.
