O-Lineman Trystan Colon-Castillo Gives Jets Additional Depth up Front

New York Jets

Just one day after adding interior lineman Wes Schweitzer, the Jets have plucked Trystan Colon-Castillo out of free agency to continue building the depth along their offensive line.  Having lost both Dan Feeney and Nick Herbig this week, the Jets need to add some pieces became more pressing and Joe Douglas and company got to work.

A former undrafted free agent out of Missouri, Colon-Castillo has spent the past three seasons in Baltimore with the Ravens where he played in 20 games (4 starts) at both guard and center.  Castillo doesn’t have great length but shows excellent strength up front in what limited film there is on him.

The 313 pound Castillo always looks to be actively searching for a target either on the move or looking for an oncoming blitzer or lineman coming on a stunt.

Castillo likely takes on the role of backup guard that was vacated by Herbig while Schweitzer will fill the Dan Feeney role of backup at all three interior spots along the O-line.
