NY Jets Trade Elijah Moore; Sign Mecole Hardman

Earlier today reports were saying that the Jets had signed Mecole Hardman. The speedy receiver from the Chiefs seemed to offer similar skills to what Elijah Moore brings to the table. Now it was just announced that the Jets have traded Elijah Moore to the Cleveland Browns.

Moore made headlines last year when he asked for a trade. Unhappy with his limited role last season, the Jets finally pulled the trigger. With additional weapons on the roster in preparation of the Aaron Rodgers trade, you have to wonder if the Jets were concerned that Moore would complain again this season.

More on Hardman:

The NFL Network reported it is a one-year deal worth up to $6.5 million. The 25-year-old speedster just underwent surgery to repair a core injury last month. He played only eight games in the regular season last year for the Chiefs. He initially suffered the injury in Week 9 and landed on injured reserve. He returned for the AFC Championship game but reaggravated the injury and left the game — and did not return for the Super Bowl.

Hardman was a second-round pick in 2019 by Kansas City. He has played 57 games, starting 26 for Kansas City. He has 151 catches for 2,088 yards and 16 touchdowns. He also has rushed 20 times for 125 yards and two touchdowns. Last season, Hardman caught 25 passes for 297 yards and four touchdowns and had four carries for 31 yards and two touchdowns.
