Jets Finally Getting it Right With Jeremy Ruckert?

Could Jets tight end Jeremy Ruckert soon be Jets fullback Jeremy Ruckert?  Or Jets H-Back Jeremy Ruckert?  Or simply, offensive move piece Jeremy Ruckert?  One interesting comment out of camp suggests this could be the case.

Speaking with Gang Green’s official web site, former Jets fullback Tony Richardson commented on Ruckert saying that his understanding is that the team has been “talking about maybe using him as a swing guy out of the backfield blocking from there”.

A decision to move Ruckert to fullback/H-Back would benefit the team in more ways that one.

First and foremost, it would give them a punishing lead blocker who, when asked in the past, has blown up defenders to open up running lanes for Breece Hall.

Secondly, it would give them a player with a little bit of versatility and Ruckert can still be your TE2 or TE3 while freeing up a roster spot by not retaining fullback Andre Beck.

And while a lead blocker won’t exactly fire up the fantasy football types, having a dominant player in that role while paired with an excellent young offensive line could pay off in a big way on Sundays.
