Jets Bolster D-Line, Make Deal for DT Jowon Briggs

Looking to bolster a defensive line that’s without a true run-stopper, Jets GM Darren Mougey has made a trade to add Cleveland Browns defensive tackle Jowon Briggs.

The Jets sent a sixth-round choice to the Browns in exchange for Briggs and a seventh-rounder.

Selected by the Browns in the seventh round of the 2024 draft, Briggs became available when Cleveland added Mason Graham in the first round of this year’s draft after selecting Michael Hall in the second-round last season.

A Cincinnati product, Briggs appeared in six games last season and picked up 13 tackles and a pair of QB hits.
