JetNation NFL Power Rankings – Week Four

NFL Power Rankings

Week three was bonkers. Defensive and special team TDs and last-second finishes were the norm. If your team is 0-3 right now, you have about a 2.4% chance of making the postseason. That slides to a microscopic 0.25% if you start the year 0-4. This means multiple teams will be looking to 2026 before we are even out of September. Take that into account when you are making your NFL Picks this weekend. Here are our NFL Power Rankings.

  1. Philadelphia Eagles 3-0
The Eagles escaped on Sunday, but that is what good teams do. They win games despite not playing their best. I have seen comparisons lately with the Chiefs in terms of the Eagles getting all the breaks. It is perspective: the truth is that the good teams make their own breaks.
  2. Buffalo Bills 3-0
The Bills were sluggish to start against Miami, but they still notched a double-digit win. The Bills average thirty-four points per game. That number figures to stay over thirty as New Orleans comes to town this week.
  3. Detroit Lions 2-1
Winning in Baltimore on Monday night is huge win for Detroit. The Lions were able to beat the Ravens at their own game, limiting the Baltimore running game while piling up huge numbers on the ground themselves. This was the type of victory that could send the Lions on a tear over the next few weeks.
  4. Baltimore Ravens 1-2
The Ravens are a very good 1-2 team with a real chance of starting 1-3 as they visit KC this week. It does not matter that you lost to some good teams. If the Ravens do not turn it around, the soft second part of their schedule will not be enough to contend in the division.
  5. Los Angeles Rams 2-1
The Rams architected a classic case of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory Sunday. LA was sleepy coming out of halftime and let a huge win slip away. The red zone hurt LA as they had four field goals in the first half.
  6. Tampa Bay Buccaneers 3-0
Hard to figure out the Bucs. They have wins on the road against winless Houston and one-win Atlanta. They struggled to a win in the home opener Sunday against the now 0-3 Jets. We will see what the Bucs are this week as they host Philadelphia.
  7. Los Angeles Chargers 3-0
LA got a tough home win against Denver. More people are grabbing seats on the Charger bandwagon as we speak. The Bolts travel to play a frustrated Giant team this week.
  8. Green Bay Packers 2-1
After dealing with the Lions and Commanders to open the season, the Pack somehow let the Browns get the best of them. Green Bay gets the reeling Cowboys this week. The Pack needs to stack up wins early as the second half schedule is much more difficult.
  9. Kansas City Chiefs 1-2
The Chiefs took care of business against the Giants Sunday night. Hard to believe, but either the Chiefs or the Ravens will start the season 1-3 after the two teams matchup this week in KC.
  10. Indianapolis Colts 3-0
The Colts are perfect after three weeks. Are you sitting down? Daniel Jones is third in the league in passing yards, fourth in completion percentage, and fourth in passer rating. Jones and the Colts face their toughest test so far next Sunday when they travel to LA to face the Rams defense.

25. New York Jets 0-3

That hurt. It seemed like the game should have ended when Will McDonald rumbled into the end zone with a blocked field goal. The Jet defense could not hold, and the Bucs went down the field for the win.

The pessimist says it is the same old Jets. The optimist says this team is just a few plays from 2-1. I am not sure which camp I identify with. It changes throughout the day.

I did not expect that 29 points would be the Jets best defensive effort after the first three weeks of the season. That is a disappointment. The Jets are better than just three teams in the league in points allowed. Gang Green is allowing 31 points per game.

The Jets are in the middle of the pack in scoring at 23 points per game. That number is one that I think most Jet fans would have signed up for at the beginning of the season. The offense was not good Sunday until the final period. New York had just six points after three quarters. Coming from behind is probably not going to be a winning formula for this group.

This week’s game will be a watershed moment for both teams. Miami is more than beatable. The Dolphins have scored just under 19 points per game thus far and are allowing a league-worst 32.3. The Dolphins head coach is on the hot seat, and the team lost at home to the Patriots. Vegas has made the Dolphins a 2.5-point favorite. I am not sure what to think. The loser’s playoff chances slip to 0.25%. By around 10:00 pm on Monday, there will be a fanbase with hope for 2025, while another fanbase will have more free time on Sunday afternoons.
