New York Jets Bye Week Betting Guide | Week 9 2025

Jets Locker Room

It may be a bye week, but Andre from UnitedGamblers.com is here again to share his betting expertise. He has been appearing on JetNation throughout the 2025 NFL season to provide betting information, tips, and predictions for the New York Jets and the NFL. This time, the spotlight is on the rest of the league.

The Jets won! A thrilling fourth-quarter comeback earned Aaron Glenn’s New York Jets a 39-38 victory in Cincinnati, their first of the year. Any encore will have to wait, for the team is on a bye in Week 9.

A week without Gang Green on the gridiron means focusing elsewhere for this Sunday’s NFL viewership and gambling. Here are some of the games worth considering for Jets fans in Week 9.

As always, the lines for these games are sourced from 2025’s top sports betting sites.

New York Jets Division Rivals

Every other team in the AFC East plays this week. The Dolphins had a Thursday night clash with the Ravens, and were 7.5-point underdogs at home (via Bet365) hours before kickoff. They seemed likely to lose, which is in line with most of their season.

However, the Jets’ other two division rivals have Sunday afternoon clashes that should be much more interesting.

Atlanta Falcons @ New England Patriots

The Falcons (+220 via BetMGM) will be in Foxborough looking to snap a mini two-game losing streak. Atlanta has been a wild ride this season. They beat the Bills firmly on Monday Night Football, but also have embarrassing losses to the Panthers (30-0) and the Dolphins (34-10 last week) on their resume.

Meanwhile, New England is riding a five-game winning streak where they’ve outscored foes 153-78. They’re undefeated against the spread (ATS) during this run.

As much fun as it is to see the Patriots lose, their heater and Atlanta’s inconsistencies make this a tough game to bet against New England in.

Kansas City Chiefs @ Buffalo Bills

Forget playing, the Jets are the only AFC East team not hosting this week since the Bills will welcome the Chiefs in an always exciting matchup.

Kansas City (-1.5 via FanDuel) is favored on the road. After a rocky start, the Chiefs have won five of six straight up and against the spread. They’re playing like the team everyone has grown to hate again.

The same can’t be said for the Bills, although they ended a short skid last Sunday. Buffalo had lost two in a row before obliterating the Panthers, and even with that win, they’re 1-4-0 ATS in their previous five.

Buffalo is playing at home and tends to have the regular-season edge against the Chiefs. However, Kansas City is playing better football, so they’re worth betting on if you want to see the Bills go down.

Jets Draft Watch

Unfortunately, one win doesn’t offset seven straight losses to open the season, so the Jets’ best plans for the future reside in the 2026 NFL Draft. Even worse news is that New York’s lone win now has them in a three-way tie for the top pick with three more teams only a game behind (in front?).

Looking at the teams that are also 1-7, the Titans host one Los Angeles franchise while the Saints will visit the other. Of the teams trailing for the worst record, the Browns are on a bye, and the Dolphins play on Thursday. Gang Green’s Big Blue neighbor is the last trailing team and will keep MetLife warm when they host the 49ers.

Let’s see if any of those rough squads can steal a shocking win and help the Jets’ chances of a higher draft pick.

San Francisco 49ers @ New York Giants

Of those teams jockeying for the top pick, the Giants (+130 via BetMGM) have the best odds of winning this week, according to the books. They’re only 2.5-point underdogs entering the weekend.

New York is 2-1 (2-1-0 ATS) at home, and all three of those games came against teams poised to make the playoffs. Meanwhile, the visiting Niners have dropped consecutive road matchups straight up and ATS.

The Giants’ injuries should make San Fran easy favorites, but the 49ers are also beat up. Somehow, even with suspect coaching, the Giants have found ways to punch above their weight class this season, especially at home. The chances aren’t great, but New York could squeak this one out.

Of course, there’s always the alternative of picking against them because of that one relative or coworker who won’t shut up.

Los Angeles Chargers @ Tennessee Titans

Next up, the Titans (+400 via ESPN BET), who are winless at home and 9.5-point underdogs in their own stadium. Although the Chargers are prone to letdowns (see their Week 4 game against the Giants), there’s a reason that Tennessee had last year’s first pick and is expected to have the worst record again this season.

There’s not much hope for the Titans to pull this one out. Even against the spread, both sides have been rough lately, so it’s probably best to just stay away from this game.

New Orleans Saints @ Los Angeles Rams

The Saints (+800 via ESPN BET) are marching into Los Angeles with a rookie QB making his first start. Outside of trouncing the Giants, the Saints have been a mess since last season. They’re very fittingly underdogs by 14 or more points this weekend.

Besides two close losses, the Rams have been beasts straight up and ATS. Don’t expect the Saints to have multiple wins when Monday rolls around.
