The Jets announced their annual team award winners today as voted on by the players and the longest of longshots managed to come away with the Curtis Martin award, given to the team’s most valuable player. Following a disastrous showing as a punt returner in Miami that led to droves of fans calling for him to be dumped, wide receiver/returner Isaiah Williams came away with the honor.
Williams finished the season with a pair of touchdown returns while racking up a total of 396 yards on 28 returns for a robust average of 14.1 yards per return.

Dennis Byrd Most Inspirational Award, DT Harrison Phillips: Added just before the start of the season, Harrison Phillips proved to be a solid addition on the field and clearly a hugely respected member of the locker room.
Kyle Clifton Selfless Warrior/Good guy, OG Joe Tippmann: Tippmann came away with two awards with the selfless warrior and good guy awards. A young up-and-coming starter on the interior, Tippmann has turned out to be a home run pick for Gang Green.
Ed Block Courage Award, OT Olu Fashanu: A tribute to his character, the Ed Block award recognizes a player being a role model who inspires sportsmanship and courage.
Marty Lyons Community Service Award, LB Marcelino McCrary-Ball: Named after former defensive lineman and radio analyst Marty Lyons, who operates the Marty Lyons foundation, McCrary-Ball is the second consecutive linebacker to be recognized as Quincy Williams took home the honor last year.
Bill Hapmton Award, CB Azareye’h Thomas: Given to the rookie who carries himself most like a professional, Thomas impressed on the field and obviously did the same in the locker room.
