Bold Darren Mougey Says Jets can be Competitive in 2026

Jets fans might be fixated on the fact that Darren Mougey and Aaron Glenn just oversaw one of the worst seasons in team history with a 3-13 record, but Mougey has a message for Jets fans.  Asked when his club might be competitive again, Mougey said he can see the Jets being respectable “next year.”

Of course, at this point in time, it’s purely GM speak that was reminiscent of Aaron Glenn’s introductory presser when he told fans to get ready to win “right away.”  But Mougey’s job is to sell the fans on whatever the Jets do moving forward, and hopefully keep season ticket sales up while he tries to find a way to win games.

That process started yesterday as Mougey and Glenn held exit meetings for roughly twelve hours.  The next step for the pair will be to review the roster with their coaches and scouts, going position by position to get their priorities straight as free agency and the draft approach.

And whether it’s this season or next, if you’re looking for a place to wager on this year’s playoffs or the 2026 Jets season, look no further than litecoin betting

Asked about getting it right at the quarterback position, Glenn said it’s about making sure the team has “the right people here” and that we “surround every one of our guys” with the right people to set them up for success.  Take that to mean the Jets will look for an experienced voice to add to their quarterback room, bet it as a QB coach or somebody serving in an advisory capacity.

The overriding message from today, though, was that Glenn and Mougey feel more confident than ever now that they have a season under their belts, and that all options will be explored to get the Jets on the right track in 2026.
