Jets Sign Harry Williams Jr.
JETS SIGN WR WILLIAMS TO ROSTER; ADD LAMKIN TO PRACTICE SQUAD
New York City – The New York Jets announced today they signed wide receiver Harry Williams, Jr. to the active roster and signed tight end Corey Lamkin to the practice squad. The announcements were made by Jets Executive Vice President/General Manager Terry Bradway.
Williams, a 6-3, 185-pound product of Tuskegee, was a seventh round selection by the Jets after he finished his colligate career with 83 receptions for 1,584 yards (19.1 avg.) and eight touchdowns. He saw action in the Jets first preseason game and caught two passes for 13 yards. Williams was waived on final cuts on September 3 and signed to the practice squad on September 5.
Lamkin, a 6-6, 240-pound product out of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, averaged 13 points and 7.8 rebounds a game as a senior forward for the Islanders? basketball team. In three seasons with Texas A&M-Corpus Christi basketball team he averaged 11.9 points and 5.2 rebounds.
