Jets Hire Brian Schottenheimer to Lead the Offense

The New York Jets announced late Monday evening that they have hired Brian Schottenheimer to become the teamâ€™s new offensive coordinator.
The 32-year old Schottenheimer is a seven-year NFL coaching veteran and has spent the past four seasons as the Chargersâ€™ quarterback coach.
Brian Schottenheimer, who is the son of San Diego head coach Marty Schottenheimer, has received praise for his work with Pro Bowl quarterback Drew Brees.
â€œHeâ€™s as hard a worker as Iâ€™ve ever been around,â€? Chargers’ offensive coordinator Cam Cameron said of the younger Schottenheimer on Chargers.com. â€œI think players in this league really respond to that. I think if you look at the development of those guys, youâ€™ll see what he brings to the table. Just look at how players play. That will tell you exactly about the guy that is coaching them. I think the play of our quarterbacks speaks volumes to the job that Brian has done.”
