Week 7 Start\Sit

by The Troll

START QB Byron Leftwich, Jacksonville – Leftwich has been solid, but unspectacular this season. Against a Texans pass defense that has given up 11 touchdowns through the air in 5 games, he should be spectacular.

START QB Chad Pennington, NYJ – Pennington isn’t an every week starter. He’s someone you need to play the matchups with. The matchup with the Lions awful pass defense is delightful.

SIT QB Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh – On all the national TV shows, all we hear is how the Steelers and Big Ben are back where they belong. Why? Because of ONE GAME against a Herman Edwards defense? The Falcons are very stingy against the pass and if you start a below-average QB like Roethlisberger, maybe you should wear a helmet.

SIT QB Drew Bledsoe, Dallas – The Giants have been very generous to opposing QBs. However, with their defensive line finally awake following an early season slumber, expect the statue to be under pressure all night long and, in turn, throw a couple to the team in blue jerseys.

START HB Edgerrin James, Arizona – James has been terrible since coming over from Indy. Without his comfortable dome or laser, rocket-armed quarterback, James has been revealed as an average back. What’s the cure for that? How about facing the Raiders? Yeah, that should do the trick.

START HB Kevin Jones, Detroit – Until the Jets rush defense improves, keep starting opposing running backs. Jones is coming off one of the best games of his career last week against Buffalo. Sell high on him after he destroys the Jets.

SIT HB Tiki Barber, NYG – The Cowboys have the league’s top run defense and Barber can’t score a touchdown to save his life. Unless he breaks a long one, Barber won’t have much use to your fantasy team.

SIT HB Rueben Droughns, Cleveland – Droughns is another back that should only be used when the matchup is right. Right now, using ANYONE against Denver isn’t right.

START WR Chris Chambers, Miami – Chambers has got to break through with a big yardage game eventually. The Packers bottom-feeding pass defense is as good a game as any.

START WR Jericho Cotchery, NYJ – Cotchery has found himself on the waiver wire of many leagues after catching only 5 passes in his past two games. There should be quite a few regretful fantasy owners when Cotch makes Fernando Bryant his whipping boy on Sunday afternoon.

SIT WR Eddie Kennison, Kansas City – So, six teams have a bye this week. So what? If 30 teams had a bye and the only game this weekend was Chargers/Chiefs, I still would sit Kennison.

SIT Cleveland Browns WRs – Denver has the toughest defense against fantasy scorers. That is unlikely to change against a mediocre Browns offense.
