Patriots Top Jets, Sun Will Shine Tomorrow
The New York Jets lost to the New England Patriots by a score of the Meadowlands today by a score of 19 to 10. Matt Cassel made his first start for the Patriots and was productive (16/25 – 165 yards). The biggest thing he did was avoid mistakes (0 Interceptions).
For the Jets, Brett Favre was 18/26 for 181 yards. He threw one touchdown to Chansi Stuckey and threw one interception. On offense the Jets looked like they weren’t sure what they wanted to do. This unit definitely needs more time to create their identity. That includes the coaching staff who seem to struggle as well with what direction they should take offensively.
We do have unofficial word that the sun will come out tomorrow. Many Jets fans seem to think that they sky is falling and the end is near. At 1 and 1, it is far too early to worry. The Jets lost to a team that was 16 and 0 last year. Yes, the Patriots are without Tom Brady. Even without Brady, the Patriots are still a very talented team. The Jets best chance today was to get an early lead and force Cassel to have to throw the ball. After an early miss on a chip shot field goal attempt by newly signed Kicker Jay Feely, it seemd like an early lead wasn’t going to happen today.
Once we have confirmation that there will be sun on Monday we will pass that information on to you. Stay tuned for the JetNation.com Report Card.
