JetNation Tours Atlantic Health Training Center
Last weekend we were invited to take a tour of the new training facility in Florham Park, NJ. To say that this place is impressive is an understatement. It was the first time that “fans” were given access. They invited the current Front Row Club seat members and along with the tour of the facility was a sales pitch on the Coaches Club auction which is now underway.
The tour started with the NY Jets Flight Crew welcoming everyone into the building. I couldn’t think of a better way to start the day. After a brief presentation we were taken on a tour and saw the outdoor fields, indoor field, locker room, weight room and kitchen. There are flat screen TVs everywhere except the locker room and trainers room. We were told that they want players to be comfortable and even gave them an impressive glass entrance.
Everyone in the building references the yard line. Meaning they know where their desk\office is located in terms of field position. They are putting up a mural of the fans from a home game this year. It will appear inside but the players can see it from the outdoor practice fields.
They have the ability for the coaches to stand in practice where they stand during the game. So if you are in the booth during the game, they have the ability to put them up top here. When they say that they spared no expense, they are telling the truth. The facility cost over 70 million dollars. (Yes, your PSL money at work).
The bottom line is this, we are the first one to call the Jets out when they get something wrong. Having seen what they built in Florham Park we have to say that they definitely got this one right. First class all the way. Training camp next year should be an enjoyable experience for the fans.
