This is Not the ‘Same Old Jets’

By Tyson Rauch

While it is easy to sit and dwell on the Jets poor performance against the Denver Broncos, it is time to move on Jets fans.  This Jets team was playing at a very high level winning 7 of their last 8 games and hit a speed bump.  To question the teams ability to not only contend for the division title, but for the playoffs altogether, is pure insanity.  Every team in the NFL regardless of their record plays a clunker here and there, it happens.  The key is how the team responds to a poor performance and this Jets team will bounce back strong against the San Francisco 49ers.

Many times it appears fans get caught up in the media hyping or bashing of a team, which leads them on a roller coaster ride of emotions.  Granted the Jets have a history of breaking their fans hearts, but fear not my friends this is not the ‘Same Old Jets’ and here are some things to think about.

1. When was the last time the Jets had a 2- pronged explosive running attack including the AFC’s leading rusher?

2. When was the last time the Jets had one of the best rush defenses in football while at the same time being amongst the conference leaders in sacks?

3. When was the last time the Jets had a team lead by a Hall of Fame quarterback who has diversified the offense and has the team believing they can win every game they play?

The New York Jets remain in 1st place in the AFC East with favorable match-ups for the remainder of the year.  Before pressing the panic button after one game, look back at what Gang Green has accomplished and what they can do going forward.  My prediction is that the Jets finish the season with an 11-5 record, the AFC East division title and #2 seed in the AFC.
