Cimini: Jets Add Punter and Tight End
According to Rich Cimini of the NY Daily News, the New York Jets have add been awarded two recently waived players:
- Punter, A.J. Trapasso
- Tight End, Matthew Mulligan
The Jets have been awarded two players on waivers from the Titans — P A.J. Trapasso and TE Matthew Mulligan, according to sources.
Trapasso is best known for hitting the new $40 million scoreboard in Dallas, creating a firestorm. His arrival means incumbent Reggie Hodges is a toast. No surprise there. Rex Ryan made it clear yesterday that they were looking for a punter.
Mulligan, a second-year player, is regarded as more of a blocking tight end than a receiver. He will back up Dustin Keller and Ben Hartsock.
These moves, plus the Kevin O’Connell trade, means the Jets must drop three players.
