NY Jets Trade For Braylon Edwards
Adam Schefter broke the news of a trade between the NY Jets and Cleveland Browns on twitter this morning:
- Filed to ESPN – HOT Browns just traded WR Braylon Edwards to the Jets. Waiting on trade terms.
- Deal for Braylon Edwards includes Jason Trusnik, the Jets core special teams player and picks – and maybe a WR. Trying to piece together.
- @Adam_Schefter: Trade terms: Braylon Edwards for Chansi Stuckey, Jason Trusnik and two picks thought to be a 3rd and 5th-round
Eric Mangini seems to have done more to improve the Jets roster after he was fired. The Jets have turned these players and some additional draft picks: Kenyon Coleman – Abram Elam – Brett Ratliff – Chansi Stuckey – Jason Trusnik into Mark Sanchez and Braylon Edwards.
Does Braylon bring some baggage and risk with him? Yes, his off the field fight a few days ago sealed his fate in Cleveland. He is young, 26 and has had one monster season (2007: 80 receptions, 1289 yards 16 TDs). In 2006 and 2008 he was around the 60 catches \ 850 yard mark. He has potential. He has to focus, work hard and stay out of trouble.
