Sanchez Out; Clemens in vs Bucs
Kellen Clemens will be the starting QB when the NY Jets take the field on Sunday in Tampa. Rex Ryan announced the move in his press conference and the Jets confirmed it on Twitter:
RL: Rex Ryan has just announced that Kellen Clemens will start at Tampa Bay on Sunday over Mark Sanchez, who has a sprained right knee. …
RL: Ryan: “Mark’s a little upset with this decision, but I think it’s in the best interest of him and our football team …
RL: “…that we make this decision and we do it now. We’ve had confidence in Kellen from day 1 and I think he’s going to be up to the task.”
Kellen Clemens looked very rusty in the 2nd half last weekend. He doesn’t have a ton of game experience and hasn’t played in a few years so, to an extent, that is to be expected.
