NFL Power Rankings (Week 8)
1. New York Jets
This Sunday’s game had a lot more juice before Green Bay began to struggle. It is still an opportunity for the Jets to beat a capable opponent.
2. Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers might have caught a break in Miami, but being in position to benefit from a break is a mark of a good team.
3. New England Patriots
This team has some pronounced weaknesses. If they continue to go unexploited, the Pats will improve, fill the gaps, and make people pay for it in December.
4. Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens would like to explain away the defensive struggles against Buffalo as not being motivated for the lowly Bills. Their next few opponents will undoubtedly watch the tape and see if it is more than that.
5. Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons need to step on their opponents and finish them off. The Bengals should have never been able to take the lead away even for a short time.
6. Indianapolis Colts
The Colts defense had the bye week to figure out how to stop the Texans from running over them for the second time this year.
7. New York Giants
The Giants are starting to step out from the crowd in the mediocre NFC. The rest of the schedule doesn’t have as many soft spots as the beginning.
8. Tennessee Titans
The Titans stand at 5-2 following a difficult opening to the season. They are in position to make a serious run at the division crown.
9. Houston Texans
The Texans can step forward in the division and the conference with a win in Indy this week.
10. Green Bay Packers
The Packers have been disappointing despite showing a winning record and sharing the lead in their division. One thing is certain; their current level of play is not going to get it done against a rested New York Jets team.
