Report: Jets to Sign Former Steelers DL McLendon

Kimberly Martin of Newsday is reporting the Jets are expected to sign free agent nose tackle Steve McLendon.

McLendon, a six-year veteran out of Troy University has appeared in 79 career games, starting 32.  Over the course of his career, McLendon has 58 tackles and 5 sacks.  A dramatically different player than recently departed NT Damon Harrison, McLendon is listed anywhere from 290 to 310 lbs on multiple sites, but is said to be currently playing at 325.

Last season, McLendon earned a grade of 74.8 out of 100 against the run and 47.2 out of 100 as a pass rusher according to PFF.com.
