Todd Bowles gave these updates to the media after practice on Wednesday as well.
On if he’s ready to say if Sam Darnold will start or not on Sunday…
Not at this time.
On if he has a read on Darnold’s health…
He’s getting better. He’s progressing along, we’ll see how he is by Friday.
On if Darnold needs more than one day of practice to start on Sunday…
We’ll see how he progresses.
On what is his philosophy on injuries with rookies especially at the quarterback position…
I like to think on all injuries, we air on the side of caution, regardless of whether he is a veteran or rookie. So we don’t take age into account. If they’re well, they play, if they’re not, they don’t.
On Darnold saying he’s pain free…
We’ll see how he progresses. Again, I can’t tell you until he practices.
On how Robby Anderson is doing…
He’s sore. But he’s coming along. Same as the rest of them.
On if Anderson worsened the injury…
It’s the same.
On if any of the players that didn’t practice out on Sunday…
Not at this time.
On if there is any thought on shutting Anderson down for the rest of the season…
Depending on the seriousness of it. We’ll just take it as it goes. We’ll see how long he’s out if he’s out. And we’ll go from there.
On if they could shut Anderson down now…
No thought of it right now.
