Week 2 KRL Game Notes

Quinnen Williams

No Richard Sherman, George Kittle, Deebo Samuel, Nick Bosa, Raheem Mostert, Dee Ford and Jimmy Garoppolo and it wasn’t even close. Heck, if the rest of the SF roster took the entire game off the Jets still couldn’t have won.  In fact in the 4th quarter the Jets quit, the effort wasn’t there and there were “loafs” all over the field.  As usual the final score (31-13) doesn’t indicate how much of a beat down it was.  Let’s take a quick look at this mess:

– The refs should’ve called the game after the first play and saved us all.  A simple pitch play to the right becomes an 80 yard untouched TD for Mostert?

– Who needs George Kittle when Jordan Reed destroyed Marcus Maye all day.

– A 3rd & 31 from inside the 20 yard line and you give up a 40+ yard run when SF was preparing to punt.  Unbelievable, Alec Ogletree got completely washed on the play as he did on most of his reps.  As bad as Ogletree was why no Avery Williamson?

– Total trash 3rd down defense all day, no matter what the distance they kept on giving up first downs (7/13).

– Pierre Desir got a gift INT, big deal.

– Unfortunately for Quinnen Williams his first impactful “Alabama game” came in this disaster (7 Tackles, 2 Sacks, 2 TFL, 1 QB Hit).

– The offense must now be leading the league in “last minute worthless” TD’s as Braxton Berrios scored another one for the second straight game.

– I have never seen so many 1 yard patterns on 3rd and short that picks up no yards.

– Bad TD drop by Chris Herndon

– Sam Darnold was meh

– Good job by Braden Mann punting (44.4 avg) and excellent hands on Sam Ficken’s FG as he handled a bad snap.
