The thread is about, “the art of the one-year deal”. What is it with Joe Douglas and these one-year contracts? No long term deals, no home grown guys extended yet.

The risk of missing on a player with a long term guaranteed contract is well documented, Trumaine Johnson. Use your cap, develop your rookies, but at the end of the year you aren’t locked in to players that aren’t part of the long term solution. This keeps a healthy cap situation year after year.
