Jets Decide to pay up: Wilson Agrees to Terms, Team to pay Bonus Within 15 Days
And just like that, all is well in Jets land. After a brief two day holdout, Jets rookie quarterback Zach Wilson will get the cash he wanted while the Jets get the language they wanted in his contract.

As the only team in the NFL to not have their top pick signed, the Jets agreed to pay Wilson all of his bonus money within 15 days of signing instead of deferring millions to next year as the team was reportedly seeking to do. For the Jets, they get the language in the contract they wanted which could hypothetically save them a few million dollars four years from now if Wilson is historically bad and doesn’t get his fifth-year option exercised.
For the Jets and their fans, it means that the latest version of what they hope will be the answer at quarterback should be on the field tomorrow when the Jets suit up for practice number three.
