Jets Work out ex-Buffalo Bills Punter Matt Araiza
Looking to add some competition and perhaps a long-term answer at punter, the Jets are hosting former Buffalo Bills punter Matt Araiza. Out of the league since being falsely accused of rape after being drafted by the Bills, Araiza was cleared of any and all wrongdoing after an investigation concluded he was not present in the home where the alleged incident took place. Although accused, Araiza was never charged.
Good for the Jets. He deserves a second chance after being cleared. https://t.co/4cGKdcUHd7

The Jets brought back punter Thomas Morstead earlier this offseason after parting ways with Braden Mann. Morstead is undoubtedly an upgrade over the erratic Mann, but Araiza could be better than both while offering a much longer term solution at the position.
An outstanding kicker in college, Araiza was the winner of the Ray Guy award in 2021, given to the nation’s top collegiate punter. Araiza also has experience as a field goal kicker where he hit on 73% of his kicks over the course of his college career.
