New York Jets Week 2 Inactive List @ Cowboys; Zuerlein Out, Lawson Up vs Dallas

Jet Nation

Coming off a thrilling overtime win to open the season at 1-0, the New York Jets travel to Dallas to take on the Cowboys, who are coming off a 40-0 beatdown win over the Giants in Week 1. Aside from Aaron Rodgers (left Achilles), who underwent successful surgery on Wednesday with Dr. Neal ElAttrache, and the “usual suspects” receiving rest days midweek, the Jets find themselves generally healthy. The lone injury that popped up on New York’s injury report, however, is indeed a big one. Kicker Greg Zuerlein, who has been money in all of camp and only missed one kick in the preseason, will be out due to a groin injury. It is unknown if he suffered the injury on MNF or during the practice week, but head coach Robert Saleh said it “isn’t serious”. In his absence, the team worked out three kickers, but none of them wanted to sign on to be a “1-week rental” according to SNY’s Connor Hughes. This bodes well for Greg the Leg to be make next week against the Patriots. Veteran Ausitn Seibert was signed yesterday to the practice squad to take his place. He appeared in 3 games least season for the Detroit Lions, converting on 12/12 on XPs and 3/5 on FGs. Here is the full list of inactive players for this afternoon’s game:

  • K Greg Zuerlein
  • RB Israel Abanikanda
  • WR Jason Brownlee
  • OT Max Mitchell
  • DL Will McDonald IV
  • LB Zaire Barnes
  • CB Bryce Hall
