Zach Wilson Leads Gang Green to 30-6 Victory Over Texans

It was quite the Sunday afternoon at MetLife Stadium for much maligned Jets quarterback Zach Wilson, who led Gang Green to a 30-6 Victory over the Houston Texans.

Wilson threw two touchdowns for the first time since the Jets faced the Chiefs back in week 4 and topped 300 yards for the first time since December 18th last season.  Almost a year to the day.

The quarterback came out hot, completing his first five passes before we saw some of the Jets old habits creeping in.  The Jets went from what looked like an aggressive air attack to a conservative run, run, pass approach with some costly penalties mixed in.

They would eventually go back to the air where Wilson played the best half of football of his NFL career over the final two quarters.  The signa caller would complete 18 of 21 passes for 209 yards and the two touchdowns for Gang Green.  The TD passes went to wide receiver Randall Cobb and running back Breece Hall.

It was a big day for Wilson on the heels of a report that the quarterback has been told by the team that he will be traded this offseason.

On defense, the Jets got a bit of a breather, playing a banged up Texans unit that was without top receiver Tank Dell.  But let’s be honest, this group has shut down some of the best offenses in the NFL this season and Tank Dell wasn’t going to make up for a 24-point deficit.

The pass rush did a good job of getting pressure up front and the secondary got their hands on one pass after another, thwarting countless Houston drives.

The win represents the Jets biggest margin of victory this season and perhaps adds a bit of trade value to Zach Wilson should the Jets look to pull the trigger on a deal at some point.
