Jets Defense has Haason Reddick Seeing Dollar Signs
As the Jets wilted under the Monday Night Football lights of week 1 in an embarrassing 32-13 loss the the 49ers, holdout edge rusher Haason Reddick was probably seeing dollar signs.
The Jets front seven created no pass rush as San Francisco QB Brock Purdy had all the time in the world to scan the field and make his throws. By the middle of the fourth quarter the Jets had just two quarterback pressures. One by Quinnen Williams and the other by Javon Kinlaw. Those came on San Francisco’s first two drives.
Reddick, who has amassed $5 million in fines up to this point, was brought in to add an elite edge rusher to the Jets defense. Problem is, he decided not to show up to work after reportedly telling the Jets he would do just that.
So while it may only be one week, Joe Douglas will feel some degree of pressure to get Reddick in the building. Will the Jets cave and pay up, or will Reddick stay home and hope the Jets front seven has more no-shows like tonight as he hopes to cash in. Slated to make $15 million this season, Haason Reddick reportedly wants to be in the $25 million range.
