Week Four Picks
by Nick FerraroÂ
Last Week
Straight: 7-7-1
Spread: 3-11-1
Year to Date
Straight: 24-20-1
Spread: 16-28-1
Okay, that was miserable. Just when you think you’ve hit rock bottom, somebody moves the rocks. I haven’t been able to pick my nose thus far, but the good news is you can just go against me and win easy.
I am hopeful that week four will be the beginning of a long climb back to the Mendoza line. I’m not giving up on 2006 just yet.
Colts (-9) at Jets
Yes, the Colts are better, but this is too many points. The Jags beat up the Colts physically despite losing last week. I’m thinking that helps the Jets stay close.Â
Colts 30 Jets 24
Chargers (-2.5) at Ravens
The Who is for Real Bowl is in Baltimore on Sunday. I think San Diego is the real deal.
Chargers 26 Ravens 10
Vikings at Bills (-1)
I don’t like either of these teams very much, so I’m going with the home team.
Bills 17 Vikings 13
Cowboys (-9.5) at Titans
The Titans seem to have just enough desire and talent to prevent the blowout. They keep this one close as well. Cowboys 24 Titans 17
49ers at Chiefs (-7)
The Chiefs played well in losing at Denver. They got an extra week to get Damon Huard more prepared to play. The Niners lost two important offensive weapons to injury last week. Chiefs 30 49ers 14
Saints at Panthers (-7)
I haven’t seen anything from the Panthers yet to make me think they can beat anyone by more than seven points. Panthers 21 Saints 20
Cardinals at Falcons (-7)
It will take the Cards an extra week to get over that brutal loss to the Rams.Â
Falcons 31 Cardinals 14
Dolphins (-3.5) at Texans
The Fins escape act against the Titans at home didn’t impress me enough to lay points on the road. Texans 24 Dolphins 20
Lions at Rams (-5.5)
It’s hard to take the Lions on the road after losing at home to the Packers.
Rams 20 Lions 10
Patriots at Bengals (-6)
The Bengals will be flying high for this one after the win in Pittsburgh. The Pats have serious issues. Bengals 34 Patriots 20
Jaguars (-3) at Redskins
The Jaguars are just better. Jaguars 21 Redskins 7
Browns (-2.5) at Raiders
The Raiders stink, but do you really want to lay points with the Browns on the road?
Raiders 16 Browns 13
Seahawks at Bears (-3.5)
The Bears will dominate at home against the Seahawks without Alexander.Â
Bears 33 Seahawks 10
Packers at Eagles (-11) (Mon.)
The Packer offensive line will have a tough time against the league’s deepest defensive line. Eagles 35 Packers 17
