Fantasy Baseball – Waiver Pickups
By Mike DietrichÂ
Welcome back to our weekly fantasy baseball article on www.jetnation.com. In this space each week we will offer some players that are probably available in your league and could be useful going forward as well as who is hot/not.  Here are my favorite pickups for the week;
JJ Hardy-.328-7-22-He is still available in a lot of leagues and this may finally be the year where he shows the promise people have been expecting the last few years.
Brendon Harris-.333-2-5-He is another prospect that is starting to come of age. He is being named the starting SS.
Ryan Garko-.284-3-8-He is playing everyday for a powerhouse lineup and has shown power in the minors.Â
Fernando Cabrera-1-1 22 K’s 1.23 ERA-The Cleveland closer position should open up with Joe Borowski having some issues and he has been lights out this year. This makes too much sense.
Jeff Suppan-4-2-2.55 ERA-Last year’s post season hero is having a great start in Milwaukee on a 1st place team. He should get to 15 wins.
Tim Lincecom-He has dominated AAA this year with a 0.29 ERA. He is not that good but impossible to ignore from the Giants.
Billy Butler-.438-0-2-This top 21 year old prospect is getting the everyday job with Reggie Sanders being out for most of the season. Maybe this top prosect will pan out unlike Alex Gordon.
Reggie Willits-.395-4SB’s-Garret Anderson is back on the DL and he is now leading off providing a huge spark for the Angels. Ride the hot streak as long as you can.
Jeremy Accordo-0.00 Era and 15 K’s- He should take over the Blue Jay closer job this week as Jason Frasor is floundering.
On the injury front; Garrett Anderson is back on the DL as is Reggie Sanders (needs knee surgery). Mike Piazza is out for 4-6 weeks as well.
Have a great week and thanks for reading!
